Hockey Canada will name Steve Yzerman as executive director for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver within the next 10 days, TSN is reporting.

According to sources quoted in the story, Yzerman will construct a committee of NHL GMs who will help the former Detroit Red Wings star select the players who will represent Canada.

Yzerman, who was Team Canada's GM at both the 2007 and 2008 world championships, was thought to be the leading candidate for the position since Coyotes coach Wayne Gretzky took his name out of contention for the position last month.
