According to a report from Sportsnet.ca, the Kontinental League may ask its players to take a pay cut in light of falling commodity prices that have hurt the league's financial backers.

The story refers to an NHL player agent who says none of the players he represents have been formally asked to take a pay cut, but he is aware of the money issues the league is facing.

Another agent is quoted as saying, "in my opinion, asking for a pay cut would definitely be a breach of contract."
