GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Mattias Ritola scored two of Grand Rapids' four first-period goals as the Griffins held on for a 6-4 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday night in the American Hockey League.

Ritola closed out the early onslaught with back-to-back goals as Grand Rapids (3-0-1-0) opened up a 4-0 lead before the game was nine minutes old. He added an assist on Garrett Stafford's first goal of the game 1:42 into the first period.
