Rockford IceHogs goaltender Corey Crawford named AHL player of week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Rockford IceHogs goaltender Corey Crawford is the American Hockey League's player of the week.

The 24-year-old Montreal native stopped 95 of 97 shots in three appearances, going 2-0-1 with a 0.67 goals-against average and a .979 save percentage.

Crawford opened the week with a relief appearance Wednesday at Grand Rapids, allowing one goal on 38 shots as Rockford rallied from three goals down to earn a point in a 6-5 shootout loss.

On Friday, he turned aside 34 shots in a 3-1 win over Chicago. On Saturday, he made 24 saves for his first shutout in a 1-0 win over Toronto.
