TORONTO - Jamie Sale, the defending champion of CBC TV's Battle of the Blades, and her partner Theo Fleury were eliminated from the competition on Monday.

The panel, which included guest judge and former skating star Toller Cranston, eliminated the pair after they made several errors.

Left in the competition are Shae-Lynn Bourne and Patrice Brisebois, Isabelle Brasseur and Todd Warriner, Katia Gordeeva and Valeri Bure, and Kyoko Ina and Kelly Chase.

Battle of the Blades challenges former hockey greats to learn pairs figure skating and the winning pair get $100,000 donated to the charity of their choice.

In addition to taking top honours in the television contest the first season, Sale won gold at the 2002 Olympics.

Fleury is a 15-season NHL player and Stanley Cup champion who also once won Olympic gold.
