Senators go for rare road win vs. Islanders

UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- If the Ottawa Senators hope to

register their first three-game winning streak, they will have

to snap a streak of futility on the road.

Ottawa goes for its first road win in six road games during the

month of November when they face the New York Islanders on

After opening the season 3-1-0 on the road, the Senators are

winless (0-3-2) since, including a 3-2 loss to the Islanders on

November 15. Their last road victory came in a 2-1 win at

Florida on October 30.

Mike Fisher scored after missing the last two games with a knee

injury while Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson scored in the

shootout as Ottawa defeated Toronto, 2-1.

Following a stretch of five wins in six starts, Islanders

goaltender Joey MacDonald has hit a rough patch. He allowed

four goals in a 5-3 loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday and another

four before being pulled early in the third period during a 7-2

loss to Boston Friday.

New York has won the previous two meetings of the season,

sweeping a home-and-home series in mid-November with victories

of 3-1 and 3-2. MacDonald stopped 67 of 70 shots in the pair of

games, including

Nate Thompson scored in Friday's loss, his first game after

missing more than three weeks due to a groin injury.
