Sens centre McAmmond to sit out game in Montreal with thigh bruise

Publish date:

MONTREAL - Centre Dean McAmmond will sit out the Ottawa Senators game Monday night against the Montreal Canadiens due to a deep bruise on his right thigh, coach Bryan Murray said.

McAmmond skated with the team Monday morning but is not ready to play. He'll be replaced in the lineup by Brian McGratton. McAmmond was slashed on the thigh by goaltender Vesa Toskala early in Ottawa's 5-4 loss to Toronto on Saturday.

The Senators are also without forward Chris Kelly, who suffered a hairline fracture in his left leg when hit by a shot from Toronto defenceman Pavel Kubina. He will be out at least three weeks.
