Sidney Crosby to suit up against St. Louis Blues despite undisclosed injury

ST. LOUIS - Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby plans to play against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night despite suffering an undisclosed injury in his previous game, according to the team's website.

Crosby was hurt during Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes, leaving after two shifts in the third period when he felt "discomfort."

He was listed as day-to-day but skated in Saturday's morning skate.

The Penguins also recalled forward Janne Pesonen from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

Pesonen, 26, has two goals and seven assists in seven games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He led the Finnish Elite League last season with 78 points (34 goals, 44 assists) in 56 games for Oulu Karpat.
