Source: Jackets send Zherdev and Fritsche to Rangers for Tyutin, Backman

NEW YORK - Forward Nikolai Zherdev is heading to Broadway after a four-player trade between the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers.

The Rangers also acquired centre Dan Fritsche in exchange for defencemen Fedor Tyutin and Christian Backman, a source told The Canadian Press.

Zherdev, 24, had 61 points (26-35) in 82 regular-season games last season while the 23-year-old Fritsche had 22 points (10-12) in 69 games.

Tyutin, 24, had 20 points (5-15) in 82 games while the 28-year-old Backman had 18 points (3-15) in 63 games.
