ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues have re-signed defenceman Erik Johnson to a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old Johnson, the first overall pick of the 2006 draft, set career bests and led Blues defencemen in points (39), goals (10), assists (29) and shots (186) last season. He agreed to the contract extension on Monday.

Johnson has 72 points in 148 games with the Blues.
