Stars sign LW Loui Eriksson to six-year extension worth US$25.5 million

DALLAS - The Dallas Stars have signed winger Loui Eriksson to a US$25.5-million, six-year extension.

The Friday signing came after Eriksson led the Stars with a career-high 36 goals last season.

That was the most for a Dallas player since Brett Hull had 39 in 2000-01.

Eriksson is signed through the 2015-16 season.

The 24-year-old Eriksson has 113 points (56-57) in 210 career games. He is expected to play for his native Sweden in the Olympics in February.

Dallas opens the season Saturday night at home against Nashville.
