'Stick' with tradition

I am writing in response to Mike Kavanagh's letter in the Dec. 18 issue of THN. He says, "Let's make the net bigger". I say, let's get rid of the one-piece high tech hockey sticks instead.

Why wouldn't the goalies equipment get bigger? With shots coming at them clocking 100 mph they need more protection. How many goalies are getting broken fingers and wrists amongst other injuries?

If Major League Baseball went to aluminum bats, with the bigger and stronger players of today, there would be twice as many, if not more, homeruns.

Stay with tradition and leave the nets alone. Go back to the original wooden hockey stick.
