Toronto Maple Leafs sign goaltender Vesa Toskala to a two-year extension

Toronto has signed Toskala to a two-year extension worth US$8 million that will kick in at the onset of the 2008-09 season. The Finnish goalie will make $1.375 million next season.

Toskala was 26-10-1 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage with the Sharks last season.

Toronto acquired the 30-year-old on draft day along with forward Mark Bell from San Jose for a package of draft picks.
