Vancouver Canucks extend contracts of coaches Smith, Clark

The 46-year-old Smith enters his fifth season as an assistant with the team and eighth with the Canucks organization. Prior to his current role, Smith spent three seasons as an assistant with Vancouver's top affiliates. Smith has coached Canucks prospects in Syracuse, Kansas City and Winnipeg.

He played professional hockey for 10 seasons. During that time, he spent six seasons as a player/coach in Europe.

Clark enters his sixth season with the Canucks. The 41-year-old has also been part of Canada's world junior championship coaching staff the past three years.
