Westrum's late goal powers Marlies to 3-2 victory over Griffins

Boyd Devereaux and John Mitchell had the other goals for Toronto. Matt Ellis had both goals for Grand Rapids. The two teams meet Saturday afternoon in Toronto.

The Marlies opened the scoring with goals by Devereaux and Mitchell that were 47 seconds apart in the first period. But Ellis countered later in the period, ending Toronto goalie Justin Pogge's shutout streak against the Griffins at 74 minutes three seconds.

Ellis tied the score at 17:48 of the third.
