Yzerman takes job as Team Canada GM for world hockey championship

Steve Yzerman will serve as the general manager of Canada's entry at the event in Moscow this April and May. He's currently a vice-president with the Detroit Red Wings.

Yzerman played in three world championships for Canada and was a member of the 2002 Olympic team that won gold in Salt Lake City. He's seen as a potential candidate to help assemble the Canadian team for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.
