ALBANY, Calif. (AP) Shared Belief will be sidelined for 60 to 90 days after sustaining a right hip injury in the Charles Town Classic last weekend.

The Santa Anita Handicap winner has returned to his base at Golden Gate Fields in Northern California. He could ultimately move to an equine rehabilitation center in Seattle for more recovery, Dan Ward, assistant to Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, said Friday.

The 5-year-old gelding was pulled up by Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith in last Saturday's race in West Virginia.

Co-owned by Hollendorfer and sports talk host Jim Rome, Shared Belief is 10-2 in his career and has earnings of over $2.9 million.
