NEW YORK (AP) La Inesperada dominated the $80,000 allowance feature Friday in the slop at Belmont Park, drawing off to a 5 3/4-length victory.
The 4-year-old won in her debut for trainer Rudy Rodriguez, following a claim for $25,000 at Saratoga last month.
La Inesperada set the pace with Javier Castellano in the saddle for her sixth win in 22 starts. The time was 1:43.84 for 1 1/16 miles in the race for fillies and mares, and La Inesperada paid $7.90, $4.90 and $3.
Oasis At Midnight, the longest shot in the field at 57-1, rallied from sixth to get second, returning $30.80 and $7.
Linda Mimi, the 8/5 favorite, paid $2.70 to show.
