Jon Gruden aspired to be head coach at Michigan as far back as 1984

As speculation swirls about the future of Michigan Wolverines football coach Brady Hoke, a big name candidate has been discovered in an odd place, the 1984 University of Dayton media guide bio of Jon Gruden.

Gruden was a junior and backup quarterback on the 1984 Flyers team, and said then that his ideal post-graduation job would be the head coach at University of Michigan.

While the job was securely held by coach Bo Schembechler back in 1984, it may very well be up for grabs 30 years later if the Monday Night Football analyst is still interested.
