Johnson agrees on deal with Diamondbacks

Free-agent second baseman Kelly Johnson has agreed on a contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks, has learned. Johnson, who is taking a physical on Wednesday, will be paid about $2 million on a one-year deal. He was non-tendered by the Braves but fills a second base hole for Arizona.

Johnson had quality years in 2007 and '08, combining to hit .282 with an .813 OPS in those seasons. A wrist injury limited his effectiveness last year but he is said to be healthy.
