SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Texas Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton has missed regular drills at spring training because of a sore left shoulder.

Hamilton had X-rays on his shoulder Thursday and the results were negative.

The 29-year-old Hamilton was hurt when he dived for a ball during a popup drill Wednesday morning. He says he simply lost his balance.

The slugger iced his shoulder much of the rest of the day and is listed as day-to-day.

Hamilton was limited to 89 games last season by injuries. He hit .268 with 10 homers and 54 RBIs, one year after hitting 32 home runs and leading the AL with 130 RBIs.
