Di Poto, Gibson likely to stay with Diamondbacks

Jerry Di Poto is very likely to stay with the Diamondbacks after finishing second for the GM job to Kevin Towers, whom Arizona hired recently. Di Poto, who had been the team's interim GM after the firing of Josh Byrnes on July 2, is likely to take a role as VP/scouting and player development but be allowed to interview if GM opportunities arise elsewhere.

Kirk Gibson, who took over on an interim basis after A.J. Hinch was fired the same day as Byrnes, is also likely to remain manager in Arizona for 2011.
