Lilly close to deal to stay with Dodgers

The Dodgers and Ted Lilly are close to an agreement for Lilly to remain with the Dodgers.

Lilly was due to be a free agent. first reported the sides were close to a deal.

The Dodgers picked up Lilly and Ryan Theriot from the Cubs in a deadline deal for Blake DeWitt and prospects. The left-hander went 7-4 with a 3.52 ERA in 12 starts for Los Angeles. He struck out 77 in 76 2/3 innings with a career-low 0.99 WHIP.
