Brewers looking at Valentine among finalists for manager

Bobby Valentine is a finalist for the Brewers' managerial job. GM Doug Melvin han't officially named the finalists, but the others reportedly are ex-Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin, White Sox coach Joey Cora, and according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Angels coach Ron Roenicke.

Valentine has told folks he was very impressed with the Brewers people but isn't necessarily expecting to get the job. Foxsports.com first reported Valentine was a finalist.

Valentine, currently an analyst for ESPN, last managed in the majors with the Mets from 1996 to 2002. He spent six years managing the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan, concluding with the 2009 season.
