Yankees, Girardi moving closer to three-year deal

The Yankees and Joe Girardi are moving closer to a new three-year deal, sources confirmed.

The deal is likely to pay Girardi slightly more than $9 million over three years, a source said. Girardi is looking for $10 million, but the final number is expected to be between $9 and $9.5 million.

The New York Post first said they are "very close'' to a deal.
