Diamondbacks put Paul Goldschmidt on DL with fractured left hand
The Diamondbacks put All-Star Paul Goldschmidt on the disabled list on Saturday with a fractured left hand, the team announced.
The 26-year-old was hit on the hand with a 93-mph fastball in the ninth inning of Friday's 9-4 loss to the Pirates in Phoenix. It was his only at-bat after entering as a defensive replacement.

He had played in 109 of the Diamondbacks' 110 games this season entering Saturday, and he played in 160 last season, when he finished second in NL MVP voting.
Goldschmidt stayed in Friday night's game and he said postgame that X-rays were inconclusive.
"I've never had any broken bones or fractures or anything like that," he said. "It felt OK, but obviously there's still some pain because it hit it pretty good."
Goldschmidt is hitting .300 with 19 homers and 69 RBIs this season. He led the majors in doubles (39) and was tied for the lead in runs (75) entering Saturday.
