Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira to reportedly miss Thursday vs. Tigers

Thursday August 7th, 2014

Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira will reportedly miss Thursday's series finale vs. the Tigers because of an injured finger, according to a tweet from Anthony McCarron of the New York Daily News citing manager Joe Girardi.

The 34-year-old, two-time All-Star got three stitches to his left pinky after being injured while sliding toward the end of Wednesday's 5-1 win at home. X-rays were negative and Girardi said he will be reevaluated after Thursday's game.

The Yankees kick off another home series on Friday, this time against the Cleveland Indians. New York is third in the AL East.
