Nationals All-Star pitcher Jordan Zimmermann has a bruised shoulder and could have his Friday start pushed back, according to a report from Byron Kerr of MASNsports.com.
Nats manager Matt Williams said Zimmermann has a "pretty good black and blue shoulder" but doesn't expect the two-time All-Star will miss his next start. Zimmermann, 28, is scheduled to pitch during Friday's doubleheader when Washington kicks off its final series of the season, a stint at home vs. the Miami Marlins.
He suffered the injury after he got hit by a line drive off the bat of the Marlins' Casey McGehee.
Williams said he won't say yet who will be the Game 1 starter for the NLDS.
