Angels All-Star Josh Hamilton said he probably won't play in the club's closing regular season weekend but does expect to be back for the playoffs, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times tweeted Wednesday night.

The 33-year-old has been dealing with a number of injuries this season, from sharp pains in his chest to soreness in his shoulder. The Angels' regular season ends on Sunday with a game on the road against the Mariners, so the news effectively ends his season until the playoffs begin Oct. 2.

If that's the case, Hamilton ends the year batting .263 with 10 homers in 89 games.
