Report: Royals sign Alex Rios to one-year deal
Tuesday December 16th, 2014

The Royals have signed outfielder Alex Rios to a one-year, $11 million contract, according to multiple reports. Jon Heyman of CBSSports was first to report the news

Rios, who will be 34 at the start of next season, had played for the Rangers since August 2013. He batted .280 with a .398 slugging percentage in 131 games last season, with four home runs and 54 RBI.

Rios could be the Royals' starting right fielder in the event they do not re-sign Nori Aoki.
