The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired Chicago White Sox pitcher Eric Surkamp in exchange for pitcher Blake Smith, Yahoo reported and both teams later confirmed

In 35 relief appearances with the White Sox during the 2014 season, Surkamp went 2–0 with a 4.81 ERA. The lefthander has fared better in 2015, going 25 2/3 innings, posting a 2.81 ERA and logging a 3–0 record.

Surkamp was signed by Chicago after being designated for assignment in December 2013 by the San Francisco Giants. He had spent six seasons in the Giants organization. He will report to Triple A Oklahoma City, according to True Blue LA.
