Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper hit a home run on the 4th of July with a patriotic bat.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the first inning against the San Francisco Giants on Saturday with a special bat for the 4th of July. 

Harper used a bat with U.S. flag stars and stripes and proceeded to hit a two-run home run off of Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner, giving Washington an early 3–0 lead. Despite losing starter Stephen Strasburg after 3 2/3 innings to injury, the Nationals went on to win 9–3.

The home run was the 25th of the season for Harper, who entered Saturday tied for third for the MLB lead. The Miami Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton leads all players with 27.

The Nationals are also wearing special 4th of July uniforms and hats.
