Watch: Mike Trout hits leadoff home run to open All-Star Game
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout hit a leadoff home run off Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke to start Tuesday night's MLB All-Star Game.
It is the sixth leadoff home run in All-Star Game history and the first since Bo Jackson did it in 1989. Trout had 26 home runs in the first half of the season.
Trout has now picked up a hit in his first at-bat in all four of his career All-Star games. He has done it in a cycle order, with a single in 2012, a double in 2013, a triple in 2014 and a home run in 2015.

Trout was last year's All-Star Game MVP after going 2–for–3 with a triple and two RBIs.
Greinke currently has a regular season streak of 35 2/3 scoreless innings. After the Trout home run, he walked Josh Donaldson before retiring the next three batters to end the top of the first inning. He pitched two innings in all and struck out four, becoming the first player since Pedro Martinez in 1999 to collect four strikeouts in an All-Star Game.
