CINCINNATI (AP) Bernie Stowe, who started working as one of the Cincinnati Reds' clubhouse attendants in 1947, died on Tuesday. He was 80 years old.

The Reds announced Stowe's death. He had been slowed by several ailments in recent years.

Stowe was the team's clubhouse manager until his retirement after the 2013 season.

One son, Mark, has been with the team since 1975 and manages the visiting clubhouse at Great American Ball Park. Another son, Rick, became an assistant in 1981 and is in his 20th season as the Reds' clubhouse manager.
