Jose Bautista says he hasn't paid for a meal in Toronto since his bat flip

Monday February 15th, 2016

Jose Bautista says that he has not paid for a meal in Toronto since hitting the go-ahead home run in Game 5 of the American League division series that sent the Blue Jays to the American League Championship Series.

“After the bat flip, did you ever have to pay for another drink or another meal in the city of Toronto?” Philadelphia 76ers guard Nik Staukas asked on behalf of TSN.

“I haven't had to yet,” Bautista said. “So we'll see if that changes. Hopefully not.”

Winter Report Card: Jays add to solid core

Bautista was in attendance for NBA All-Star Game festivities over the weekend. The Blue Jays will play their first spring training game on March 2 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
