The Pittsburgh Pirates prevailed 6–5 over the St. Louis Cardinals in 11 innings Tuesday thanks to a walk-off single by Jordy Mercer.

After a Gregory Polanco walk and Josh Harrison single, Mercer stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the 11th and belted a single down the rightfield line off Seth Maness to score Polanco and secure the victory.

Kyle Lobstein picked up the win for the Pirates, who have won their first two games of the season over their division rival.
