The Oakland Athletics will promote pitching prospect Sean Manaea to start on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chroniclereports.

The 24-year-old southpaw, who was acquired from the Royals in last year’s Ben Zobrist trade, has posted a 1.50 ERA in 18 innings across three starts in Triple A this season.

Baseball America has Manea No. 48 in its preseason prospect rankings.

According to the Chronicle, Jesse Hahn, who missed the end of last season with a forearm injury, was also in the conversation to start on Friday after Eric Surkamp’s demotion.

Oakland will host Houston at 10:05 p.m. ET on Friday.
