MILWAUKEE (AP) St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha left Friday's game in the seventh inning after being struck on the lower right leg by a low liner off the bat of Milwaukee Brewers Jonathan Villar.

With one out, Villar smashed a shot up the middle that struck Wacha just above his right ankle. The ball ricocheted to third baseman Greg Garcia, who threw Villar out at first.

Wacha remained sprawled on the mound for several minutes while the team trainer examined his leg before walking off the field.
