Buster Posey faceplants into third base

Tuesday August 9th, 2016

Buster Posey tried to slide into third base head-first during a game against the Marlins on Monday night, and wound up going in nose-first.

The Giants catcher was attempting to go first-to-third on a Brandon Crawford single in the 11th and beat a throw from the outfield when he got caught in the dirt and smushed his nose against the bag.

Posey was seen rubbing his face and checking out his hand after the slide, but he remained in the game.

He wound up getting thrown out at home, failing to score the go-ahead run in a 7–7 game.
