On top of the 8-6 loss the Angels suffered on Saturday, the Halos also lost their third baseman Anthony Rendon to a left groin injury he suffered in-game.

The 32-year-old was feeling some tightness while out in the diamond and didn't mince any words with his manager Phil Nevin when he came out to replace his LHP Reid Detmers.

The Angels also replaced third baseman Anthony Rendon in the sixth inning after he left with left groin tightness. Nevin said Rendon told him “I don’t think I could move to get a ball right now” when Nevin was on the mound to replace Detmers in the sixth inning.

Rendon, whom Nevin said was already scheduled for an off-day in the third game of the series, will be re-evaluated Sunday.

Rendon was catching his stride before his left groin injury. He had his first home run last week while logging in 20 RBIs, a .301 batting average, and a .784 OPS.

We're unsure how serious the injury is at the moment, but we're hoping it isn't anything too severe and avoids an IL stint. Rendon has only played 135 games in the past three seasons, including this season. Injuries have been a common occurrence for the two-time slugger, and it seems to follow him into every season.

We wish Anthony the best and a speedy recovery.
