We are beginning to find out more and more about Anthony Rendon's quarrel with an Oakland Athletic's fan and with the police department now involved, it's not looking too hot for the Angels' third baseman.

The MLB is already currently in the midst of investigating the situation that occurred after the Angels' season opener against the Athletics on Thursday but now authorities are also in the picture and it appears they are approaching this as reported battery committed by Rendon.

"The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a battery that occurred on March 30, 2023, following an event that occurred on the 7000 block of Joe Morgan Way. At this time, no victim has contacted OPD, however, surveillance video of the incident has surfaced. As a result, OPD created an incident, made a report, and is actively investigating." The official definition of battery in California is a frequently-filed criminal offense that involves any intentional and unlawful physical contact on another person. As of now, the OPD is taking this case very seriously and viewing Rendon's actions as a potential crime.

However, what is interesting about this report is that it revealed the fan involved did not reach out to authorities to report the incident. This could be because they are getting advice from a lawyer or even recovering from any trauma from the incident but the surfaced video also doesn't show what happened prior to the physical interaction.

It shouldn't take too long for the police department to get some clear answers and Rendon plans to speak to the media on Saturday so we'll likely get some big answers soon.
