Shohei Ohtani is still among the best superstars in the MLB right now, let's get that out of the way. And like any other superstar, he is going to have some series during the year in which he does match his insane production that we are used to.

A stretch like that just happened to occur for him this past weekend in a home series against the Miami Marlins. The 28-year-old superstar was nowhere to be found at the plate as he got struck out on five different occasions and went just 1-12 in his at bat's in the three games.

His pitching still served to be elite on Saturday as he allowed just six hits and two runs in six innings while striking out 10 batters.

Mike Trout wasn't performing up to his usual standards either, specifically on Sunday when he went 0-4 in his own at bat's. LA's depth has been coming through the past couple of weeks but they too fizzled out against the Marlins.

Team manager Phil Nevin is perhaps the least worried when it comes to these two superstars finding their bats again in their next series against the White Sox.

“I’m not worried about them,” said Nevin. “They come out of it and they go crazy. It so happens that right now both of them aren’t at their best, maybe, but still we get to a point in the game where … Mike’s up there with a chance to win it or tie it. I’ll take that every day.”

And LA will definitely need them to start heating up during this away series against Chicago because right after them will a division rival in the Houston Astros waiting for them.

We'll see everybody on Monday at 5:10 pm PT!
