J.P. France is 27-years-old now; he's been in the Houston Astros system five years and is approaching the age where he's beginning to lose prospect status. Fortunately for him, the Pacific Coast League awarded France a ticket back to the forefront of the minds of Astros evaluators.

In his start last week, France threw seven scoreless innings, striking out seven while allowing just two baserunners, one walk and one hit, good enough for a game score of 81.

On the season at Triple-A with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, France has thrown 78.1 innings for a 4.25 ERA. His K/9 is 11.1 and his commanded the strike zone well for a 3.7 BB/9.

His 97 strikeouts are first in PCL play over the course of the entire season. Perhaps if France begins to limit home runs and extra base-hits, a promotion could be in his future.
