USA Today Gives Astros Offseason Grade

USA Today has graded the Houston Astros for their offseason production.

USA Today handed out offseason grades for every Major League Baseball team in a piece published by Bob Nightengale and Gabe Lacques.

The grades take into consideration all offseason trades, signings and transactions.

The Houston Astros were given a B- and here’s why according to the piece:

“They can survive Justin Verlander’s defection. Striking early for slugger Jose Abreu – at $68.5 million – will be an interesting referendum on owner/temporary GM Jim Crane’s acumen.”

The Astros have since hired Dana Brown as GM
