Bobby Miller shined in his MLB debut, leading the Dodgers to an 8-1 win over the Braves and setting the boys in blue up for a sweep on Wednesday. After securing his first big league win, Miller experienced quite the odd and disgusting sounding (and sticky sounding) celebrations with teammates showering him not only with beer but also with ketchup, mustard, hot dog relish, and anything else they could apparently get their hands on.

"There was some nasty stuff poured on me," he told media, "but I loved it. You've got to appreciate times like that. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

Miller's first game in the show certainly earned him the Dodger dogging (and I immediately apologize for that expression). The 24-year-old rookie pitched five innings, allowing only one run and shutting down the Braves in his final four frames. He punched out 5 ATL bats.

"For him to arrive and pitch like he did on a stage like this," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, "[against] a team like this, the way he showed was really encouraging for all of us. I think this is just a start."

Miller said he leaned on catcher Will Smith to get him through the game and the nerves of his first start.

"As confident as I looked out there, I was very nervous under that poker face. I just had to focus on my breathing and tell myself it's the same game still. Nothing changes. Stick to the game plan. Trust Will behind the plate. I didn't shake him off at all, and he took me to the promised land."

He figures to get one or two more starts at the big league level, but if he keeps on excelling, he could stick around for even longer.
