Dodgers News: Daniel Hudson Provides An Encouraging Update On His Injury

The Dodgers reliever provides a hopeful update after suffering a season-ending ACL injury last year.

Last June, Daniel Hudson threw a pitch and immediately went down sending the crowd into a state of shock.

You could see the amount of pain he was going through and sure enough, it was announced that he had suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

After getting surgery this past summer, Hudson then started to deal with some tendinitis issues in his ankle. His goal all winter and spring was to focus on rehabbing his knee and ankle before the 2023 season commences.

Flash forward to this weekend, and the 35-year-old pitcher provided fans with some good news about the injury.

“I’m feeling pretty good. Recovering pretty solidly, first couple bullpens went pretty well. Really taking it session by session. As long as we keep coming out of those okay we’ll start to progress a little bit and hopefully get to face some hitters the next couple of weeks.”

It's not confirmed whether he'll be ready in time for Opening Day but the news is still exciting as the 2023 season quickly draws near.

Last year with the Dodgers, Hudson posted a 2.22 ERA with 30 strikeouts and just five walks in 24 ⅓ innings before his injury.

The Dodgers are the seventh different club that Hudson has played for. Across his 13 seasons in the MLB, he boasts a 3.81 ERA with

With the hope that he would make a strong return for the upcoming season, LA signed him to a one-year, $7 million contract this winter.

Right now the Dodgers could use all the help they can get in the bullpen so there sooner Hudson can return to the mound the better.
