Dodgers infielder Max Muncy left Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Rays early with an apparent leg injury. It was later determined to be a cramp, however, the Dodgers wanted him to get some tests to ensure that's all it was.

Fortunately, the Dodgers had a fresh update on Monday afternoon, courtesy of team manager Dave Roberts. And he said that not only do they believe it's just a cramp, but the doctors decided they didn't need to do any further testing on Muncy's leg.

"We feel good about it," Roberts said. "I think it is just a cramp. I guess the doctors all looked at it and decided he didn't need a scan, which is a good thing. I talked to Max a little bit today, he said there's some soreness, but I think that was related to the needling of his hamstring and kind of working on it as opposed to the cramp."

Muncy is expected to be available on Tuesday in the Dodgers' second game of the series against the Washington Nationals, after being held out of the lineup in the series opener on Monday.

That's great news for a Dodgers team who has loved Muncy's slug in the cleanup spot in the lineup.

While Muncy has been struggling as of late, he's still proven this year that he can get back to being the All-Star caliber player he was in 2021. As long as he can stay healthy, he should get back to slugging sooner rather than later.

Hopefully Muncy's back in the lineup for the Dodgers on Tuesday, and he doesn't have any lingering issues with the cramp.
