Opening day starter Julio Urias hit the injured list over the weekend after an MRI revealed a minor hamstring strain after his last start against the Cardinals in St. Louis. Thankfully the Dodgers don't seem too concerned over it and expect him to come off the IL as soon as he's eligible to on June 3rd. That would line him up for a huge matchup against a team that could very well be suitors for his services this coming offseason.

The New York Yankees.

Here's what manager Dave Roberts said on the subject on Monday.

“I think right now it’s set in pencil – that start against the Yankees – because if you’re going to do this, you have to make sure he’s 100 percent.”

It would be only the second time in his career that Julio would be facing the Yankees. But before he gets that far, he'll need to prove he's not hindered by that left hamstring injury. The left-hander will throw a bullpen session in the coming days to test where his leg is at. If everything turns out well, he's expected to jump right back into the starting rotation.

In the meantime, rookie right-hander Bobby Miller will take down one or two starts for Urias. Miller is making his major league debut Tuesday afternoon in Atlanta, what would have been Julio's next turn in the rotation. The feeling from the Dodgers is that they'd rather limit the rookie's exposure to the league until he's a bit more seasoned.

He hasn't gotten off to the best of starts at the Triple-A level this year with a 5.65 ERA in 4 starts. Him making his MLB debut against the Braves is bad enough, but to pitch against the New York Yankees is something LA might rather avoid.
