Prospect huggers look away. On Monday, the news dropped that former Dodgers minor league Ryan Noda has made the Oakland A's opening day roster. Noda, an outfield/first base prospect had been in LA's farm system for the last two seasons, hitting a combined 54 home runs over that stretch.

He was claimed by the A's in the Rule 5 draft in December and has now made the 26 man roster.

Noda was one of those classic Dodgers minor leaguers that are very intriguing but have no place to play. He came to the organization in  a 2020 trade that sent Ross Stripling to the Toronto Blue Jays

The soon-to-be 27-year-old made it to Triple-A with the Oklahoma City Dodgers last year, his first time reaching that level. A 2017 draft pick by the Jays, Noda has 94 home runs and owns a lifetime .264/.407/.486 triple slash lin over parts of 5 minor league seasons.

With the A's this spring, the prospect didn't tear the cover off the ball by any means. He hit just .208 with a .683 OPS over 25 games, adding a home run and 3 doubles. The A's, thankfully for Ryan, are a really bad team and should give him a deserved opportunity for some playing time.
