Welcome to another of our daily Dodgers game threads. Saturday marks the second of a three versus the Giants at Chavez Ravine. First pitch is at 6:10 p.m. PT on SportsNet LA.

Reader-participation game threads are posted in this space daily for every Dodgers contest that is telecast locally or nationally, including the postseason as long as the locals are in there. All of them. With yours truly as the discussion host.

I post a new game thread, along with the lineups and the most recent game's highlights in this space at least 40 minutes minutes prior to first pitch each night. So if you're looking for a reliable source for that information, you'll find it here.

To participate, click the "follow" button in the top right corner of this web page and type your thoughts into the comments section at the bottom of the page. You'll need to set up an "account" if you're a newcomer to the comments section. I hope you will. Feel free to email me if you get stuck.

They’ll have Barnes prepare to hit, wait to see which pitcher is announced, and if it’s a righty they’ll go to Rios. If it’s a lefty, Smith.

Unless something wonderful happens in the next hour, you will find me in the fetal position later.

Dodgers need to stop this no hitter by having a very big inning hitting. Ok a few wonderful innings with lots of hits and RUNS

Ump’s zone is off for both teams, but Kersh couldn’t take advantage of it.

So much for the pitch count. They’re just gonna have to beat him now. Or hope for an eighth or ninth inning comeback.

I agree with Howard that Smith should start most games and a new backup is needed, and that Russell Martin would be a good choice. I like Barnes, but he's had plenty of opportunities to prove himself.

When will Roberts tire of Barnes?

Barnes should work on his on base percentage by leaning into inside pitches.

If Barnes goes 4 for 4, I will buy Howard a car. I feel safe.
